Twelve years reading trees for Coquitlam

Before this was my full-time business, I spent 12 years as an arborist for the City of Coquitlam. Street trees, parks, storm calls.

I've seen what a city actually wants in an arborist report, because I worked on that side of it.

So when someone hands you a form and tells you to go get an arborist report, I can tell you what it's really asking for.

Credentials

What I'm certified in

  • ISA Certified Arborist

The main professional credential for tree care. I passed the International Society of Arboriculture exam on how trees grow, how to care for them and how to work safely.

  • ISA Certified Climbing Arborist

The ISA credential for working up in the tree on ropes. It covers climbing, cutting and lowering pieces safely from a climbing position.

  • Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ)

Extra ISA training in judging how likely a tree is to fail and what it would hit. It's the qualification behind every risk assessment and written report I do.

  • ITA Arborist Technician

A BC trade certification for tree work from the ground: knowing the species, judging tree health, lowering branches on ropes, and working with the climber above.

  • ITA Certified Climber

The BC trade certification for pruning and removing trees from a climbing position, on top of the Arborist Technician skills.
